Since we announced Event-Driven Ansible in developer preview at AnsibleFest last October, we have been working with a number of technology partners to provide integrated offerings via Ansible Content Collections for Event-Driven Ansible. We know that partner integrations are an important source of event intelligence that can be used to create full end-to-end event-driven automation across your Day 2 operations.
Many of these integrations are in the area of event-source plugins that make it possible for Event-Driven Ansible’s decisioning capability to receive intelligence about a condition in the IT environment that needs a response.
Today at Red Hat Summit, as we announce Event-Driven Ansible as a capability that will be included in Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2.4, we are pleased to unveil the initial set of partners who are creating Ansible Content Collections for Event-Driven Ansible. Many of these will be Red Hat Ansible Certified Content Collections, and some partners are already in the certification process. Others are planned to certify in the near future. As each Collection is complete, subscribers can find and download them in Ansible automation hub.

Here are the Red Hat partners supporting Event-Driven Ansible today:
ThousandEyes' active and passive monitoring techniques provide unmatched cloud and internet visibility and deliver deep insight into the user experience across the applications and services you provide and consume. The ThousandEyes platform allows you to configure highly customizable alert rules, assigned to tests, to notify events of interest. The integration with Event-Driven Ansible will permit users to send JSON-formatted alert data to Event-Driven Ansible, which you can use in Ansible Rulebooks to facilitate further action.

CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity provider with a state-of-the-art cloud-native platform that safeguards key enterprise risk areas, encompassing endpoints, cloud workloads, identity, and data. By integrating with Event-Driven Ansible, CrowdStrike’s telemetry enables organizations to develop proactive, streamlined workflows for mitigating threats and minimizing potential damages. This collaboration bolsters the security posture via automated responses. Anticipated certification: Q2 2023.
CyberArk provides comprehensive security offerings for identity management. The CyberArk PAM Self-Hosted solution will export syslogs to Event-Driven Ansible as an event source. Once Ansible ingests the event, it will act on rule-based criteria contained in an Ansible Rulebook and will call Ansible Playbooks to initiate action when the conditions contained in the rulebook are met. Anticipated certification: Q2 2023.
Dynatrace, the leader in unified observability and security, offers a Red Hat Ansible Certified Content Collection for Event-Driven Ansible. For customers using Ansible Automation Platform, this integration provides AI-powered insights and action from Dynatrace to automate a broader range of DevSecOps use cases, including closed-loop remediation, application healing, and incident response. This helps platform engineering, DevOps, and security teams mature their automation practices and deliver more seamless and secure digital experiences for their customers. This Collection is presently in the certification process and is expected to be available in Q2 2023.

In collaboration with Red Hat, F5 can better protect enterprises through fast, event-driven automation to help improve operational efficiency and reduce security risk. Enterprises can enact Event-Driven Ansible Playbooks to take immediate action using F5 solutions, including F5 Advanced WAF and BIG-IP Application Security Manager. This helps achieve a faster mean time to resolution, and ultimately frees up limited resources. This Collection will be included in existing Red Hat Ansible Certified Content Collections for F5. IBM IT Automation, including IBM Instana and IBM Turbonomic, delivers enterprise observability and automated operations for business applications, while Event-Driven Ansible automates and optimizes the configuration, deployment, and management of the IT infrastructure that application workloads run on. In collaboration with Event-Driven Ansible, IBM provides an end-to-end automation solution that optimizes the entire IT lifecycle. The joint solution enables organizations to forgo reactive observability and achieve preventative IT operations that use event-driven automation to optimize for performance, speed, and cost. This collection is presently in the certification process and is expected to be available in Q2 2023.
Palo Alto Networks
The Event-Driven Ansible plugin for PAN-OS elevates security operations for Palo Alto Networks products. The plugin enables real-time error log streaming and automated response, enabling opportunities for self-healing network security. Event-Driven Ansible can help revolutionize administration of Palo Alto Networks solutions with this Event-Driven Ansible integration. Anticipated certification: Q2 2023.
Zabbix is an enterprise-class open source distributed monitoring solution designed to monitor and track performance and availability of servers, network devices, services, web, virtual environments, containers, IoT, and OT resources. The integration with Event-Driven Ansible is based on a webhook that pushes Zabbix events to Event-Driven Ansible to automate issue remediation and debugging tasks. This integration is available as part of a new Zabbix Content Collection, which is in the process of being certified. It will be available soon on Ansible automation hub and is included in Zabbix 6.0.

In addition to the above partner integrations, several Red Hat teams are creating integrations for Event-Driven Ansible.
Red Hat Insights for Red Hat platforms
Red Hat Insights provides unified visibility across Red Hat platforms and services and gathers and analyzes platform and application data to predict risk, recommend actions, and track costs. The Red Hat Insights Collection for Event-Driven Ansible receives and handles inbound requests according to defined rulebooks and works with the Insights Notifications service. For example, new Advisor recommendations are automatically forwarded to Event-Driven Ansible from Insights. Each event contains metadata which can be used to process the event and perform actions and/or trigger responses. Anticipated certification: Q2 2023.
Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes Event Source Plugin for Event-Driven Ansible
Kubernetes has become a key component for many organizations because they are hosting their mission critical applications on this technology. The Kubernetes event source plugin for Event-Driven Ansible provides insights into the state of Kubernetes clusters by monitoring changes to resources as they are created, modified, or removed. Through the use of this integration, Red Hat OpenShift platform and application teams can tap into the power provided by Event-Driven Ansible to drive complex automation actions.
