Mastering LinUx with Ansible

Every new major release of a GNU/Linux distribution provides a seemingly endless stream of advancements and innovations. However, the reality is that while the new "bits" are free, the implementation and integration into existing production environments is not. For a tightly integrated environment it can become very costly, in terms of both time and money, to integrate a new major release such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.

To address this, Red Hat is using Ansible to provide standardized subsystem interfaces to make this integration work easier for everyone. For example, assigning an IP Address to a NIC should be an abstract concept rather than a homework assignment to learn init-scripts networking, NetworkManager, or systemd-networkd. Come learn how to configure RHEL without worrying about the technical implementation.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to use RHEL System Roles How to contribute to the linux-system-roles upstream project
  • How Red Hat is integrating Ansible into its own development processes and products
