Last year, we made some significant changes to Red Hat Ansible Automation, including what is offered with it and alongside it, to bring you the first version of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. That change allowed users to harness the power of Ansible automation under one roof, one subscription - one platform.
Today, we are pleased to announce updates to Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, the latest version of our enterprise-grade solution for building and operating automation at scale. The next time you log in to cloud.redhat.com, you can start utilizing the powerful new tools at your disposal. We’ve put in place the automation services catalog, a venue for developers and business users to manage, provision and retire resources. Customers told us this was a necessity and we agreed, with the automation services catalog now giving you a much deeper insight into how automation is improving efficiencies. It also gives you visibility into redundant processes that may be costing you time and resources that you may want to sunset. Accentuate what is working and eliminate what is not. More information about automation services catalog can be found here.
Another enhancement we rolled out with the Platform last fall was Automation Analytics. We hope that you’ve enjoyed the ability to see how automation is being consumed across the enterprise via automation dashboards. We’ve continued to refine and enhance this Automation Analytics, and have now added an automation calculator. The automation calculator allows users to evaluate the value of automation at their company and customize it to an individual company’s data. Think of it as a way to measure past, current and future return on your automation investment. More information can be found here.
As an integral part of the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, we have also updated Ansible Tower with enhanced stability and increased performance for our customers. We learned that the blocking of jobs in Ansible Tower was keeping users from fully utilizing the Platform, so we removed blocking when projects and inventories are being updated to allow higher job throughput. Additionally, we have significantly increased the performance of the API and user interface under load, helping the Platform remain performant in the presence of many users and frequent automation. More information on the latest enhancements to Ansible Tower can be found here.
Finally, we wanted to make sure that you are taking advantage of the collections available in Automation Hub. With a Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform subscription, users are provided access to a number of Red Hat certified content collections. These collections are packaged content that include modules, roles and plugins that help deploying automation more simple. Through Automation Hub, customers have direct access to trusted content collections from many popular network, security, storage, and cloud partner solutions. We’ll be launching a blog series this summer with more details around specific certified partner collections.
We hope that you’re as excited as we are about the new features we’ve added to Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. Our goal is to help make things as easy as possible for our users, while continuing to increase the speed and flexibility of Ansible. If you’d like to speak with anyone regarding these new updates or have any questions about Ansible, join our ask the experts - here to help webinar series running from now through the end of June. And as always, if you need to speak with someone immediately, please reach out or contact your Red Hat account team.
